Accidental Vegan

Hello,

My name is Angie and I'm a recovering meat eater!

So, many years ago - almost a past life ago, I had come across some PETA videos which had made me swear off chickens and cows for food (I don't include piggies because for some reason I never ate them)...I became a VEGETARIAN! That lasted three months, after this short period of time I became seriously allergic to all new food I was eating (read here: overdosing) on this vegetarian diet. So I suddenly became allergic to gluten, such as pasta & bread and also seafood!
I regretfully went back to my old ways of eating...

Fast forward to July 2017, I was bored one lazy Saturday afternoon and decided I'd like to watch some documentaries...I came across ''What the Health'' - 15 minutes into the movie my android box froze (I hate it when that happens!). I then tried to find tidbits on YouTube (not a chance!). I got some suggestions from YouTube, such as the Oprah Vegan Challenge and decided to watch that instead. I heard how people on the challenge started feeling great and had lots of energy, went to the bathroom often and were losing weight. That hit home with me as I had been struggling with all those issues for far too long!

I decided there and then that I would give this Vegan thing a chance and see if I would feel so great... lo and behold each day that passes I feel amazing. In these short three weeks, I've watched a ton of documentaries, the most popular ones being: Cowspiracy, Forks Over Knives and the rest of What the Health. I've completely revamped my way of eating have come up with some delicious recipes too.

The hardest thing for me was finding a replacement for the cream I put in my coffee (god knows I used a ton of that!)

Last but not least, I have to admit that I'm struggling with the idea of having my six-year-old daughter follow the vegan diet with me as I haven't read enough yet to assure me that she will be OK and get all she needs to grow up and be healthy...I'm almost there, just not yet!

Stay tuned for my delicious recipes, which I will post and share with you next week!

Until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Yiasou,
Angie
